In 2011, under the creative direction of Deandra Vaughn, Heartbreaker became a space designed to incite a collaboration between stylist and client. Our warm and inviting atmosphere was ergonomically designed to keep the stylists bodies in tip top shape, and allow a long and happy career. A healthy workplace makes for a happy hairdresser which equals a happy client!
Heartbreaker is made up of stylists who are carefully considered to reflect our brand. We have an intensive interview process that identifies each stylists strengths and areas for improvement, allowing for continuous education and growth. We are ready to work with you and are always genuinely happy to see our clients and welcome new ones. We miss you already.
Owner / Master Stylist
Deandra started hair in 1994 – and after graduating from Jojis in Vancouver at the top of her class – she’s worked in salons all over Vancouver. She was born and raised in East Van and has a decade of professional experience there. Heartbreaker would not have been possible without help and support from this community.
Melissa is a Davines Salon Ambassador, a Davines Educator and part of the Davines North American artistic team. She graduated in 1999 and was one of Heartbreaker’s original stylists. She has furthered her education with advanced classes with Davines, Wella and Vidal Sassoon.
Heidi has been doing hair professionally since 2008 and gained her education through apprenticeships in Edmonton and Montreal. She has also continued her education by taking classes in advanced techniques through Allilon, Davines, Matrix and Aveda. Heidi has an affinity for Cezanne / Keratin smoothing treatments. @adelaidelapin
Serrah has been doing hair professionally since graduating from hair school in 2004. She has attained advanced color training through apprenticeships here in Vancouver and believes education is the key to remaining fresh and skilled in the ever changing styles and techniques in the industry. She has a passion for long hair, barber cuts and ombré and balayage color. Serrah was born and raised in Vancouver and has just returned home from living in London and California.
Lindsay grew up in North Delta and attended the Vancouver Hair Academy, graduating in 2013. She has continued her education with advanced barbering and colour classes as well as participating in SHINE No Stigma helping to raise awareness and support for mental health. She has competed in battle of the barbers, styled for editorials and presented on stage. All fun aside, Lindsay’s heart lies in working behind the chair with her clients to deliver styles that are effortless yet trendy, and consistently bringing out their individual personality.
Since graduating in 2013 Jamie has been extensively training and building professional experience in styling/ cutting & colouring at acclaimed salons like Aveda and Suki’s. Jamie strives to stay on top of contemporary hair industry fashion and is able to provide her customers with brilliant, creative looks. Hair is her passion and happy clients are her reward.
A born Vancouverite, Christine graduated from JCI in the top of her class in 2016. Before pursuing a hair career, Christine worked for thirteen years in interior design and event planning, where she showcased her creative flair for art, design and visual trends. She is a natural talent at working with people and fulfilling their aesthetic vision. She most loves precision cuts and creative colours. @christinecoxhair
Even before graduating from Blanche MacDonald in 2012, Janine had found a passion and creative flow through hair. In colour, cuts and styling she strives to bring an exceptional experience for her guests. Janine loves texturized styles, face framing and wispy long layers. Her love of colour means she excels at vivid and creative funky colours. Janine believes educating and working together with her guest step by step will achieve healthy and happy results!
Love Heidi so much! I always wanted to bleach my hair but I see so many bottle blondes and their hair looks terrible!! Then I met Heidi! She helped me transition from having jet black natural hair to blonde and it looks so good! She is super talented and awesome!! Been working with her for a year and a half now and I always walk out of the salon looking hella fly.
[They] not only explained WHY [my hair] does this (which no stylist had ever really explained before), but then also cut my hair to fix the problem!

I’d recommend this salon to anyone looking for great service, great hair in a low key (but awesome) environment. As a bonus, a couple of cute little dogs looking for pets and love:)
Appointment Cancellation Policy
Your appointments are very important to us at Heartbreaker Salon and Spa and are reserved especially for you. We understand that sometimes scheduling adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations.
STRICT AND ENFORCED 24 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY!
Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. Our appointments are confirmed 48 hours in advance because we know how easy it is to forget an appointment you may have booked months ago. Since the services are reserved for you personally, a Cancellation fee will apply.
– Less than 24 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.
– “NO SHOWS” will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount.
– For appointments made within the 24 hour period with a need to cancel, the client must provide 4 hours notice prior to the appointment time. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.
– Colour Corrections must be held with a credit card. Colour Correction appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount
– Our cancellation policy allows us the time to inform our standby guests of any availability, as well as keeping our team member’s schedules filled, thus better serving everyone.
As a courtesy, we send out text messages to confirm your service appointments two days prior to your appointment date. We may also attempt to call you if you have not confirmed your appointment via text. However, if we are unable to reach you or can only leave a message, please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times to avoid late arrivals, missed appointments and the cancellation fee.
